We are looking for Riggers to work in a six month-project in Sengerema, Mwanza. We are looking for experienced candidates who can begin immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and rig loads for lifting, moving, and positioning using appropriate lifting equipment and accessories.
- Inspect slings, shackles, hooks, chains, wire ropes, and other lifting gear before use to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose.
- Ensure all lifting accessories are certified and within their inspection validity period.
- Determine load weight, center of gravity, and select appropriate lifting equipment for the task.
- Attach and secure loads safely to prevent shifting or falling during lifting operations.
- Guide and control suspended loads using tag lines and approved rigging techniques.
- Communicate effectively with crane operators and lifting teams using standard hand signals or radio communication.
- Assist in planning and executing lifting operations in accordance with approved lifting plans.
- Conduct routine inspections of rigging equipment and report defects or damages immediately.
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with company procedures, safety regulations, and permit-to-work requirements.
- Stop lifting operations if unsafe conditions or practices are observed.
- Maintain rigging equipment and ensure proper storage after use.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications:
- 3rd Party Certified
- Minimum 3 years of work experience
